Phosphate Buffered Saline is an optimal formulation of pH stabilizers and salts designed to effectively remove excess material from the microtiter plate wells without disrupting the ELISA binding reaction. By maintaining the proper buffering environment, unbound components can be washed away without suppressing antigen-antibody binding interactions, thereby reducing nonspecific background and increasing the specific signal. The ready to use solution is obtained by diluting 19:1 with reagent grade water. The diluted ready to use buffer contains 137mM NaCl, 12mM Phosphate, 2.7mM KCl and 0.05% Tween 20. All our buffers are specially formulated and filtered to ensure that they are of the highest possible quality, longest stability, and guaranteed to be free of contaminants.
