Tris Buffered Saline is an optimal formulation of pH stabilizers and salts designed to effectively remove excess material from the microtiter plate wells without disrupting the ELISA binding reaction. By maintaining the proper buffering environment, unbound components can be washed away without suppressing antigen-antibody binding interactions, thereby reducing nonspecific background and increasing the specific signal. This product is available in different concentrations and with and without Tween 20. TBS is used for immunohistochemical staining when background is high or when alkaline phosphatase conjugated antibodies are used. The diluted ready to use buffer contains 137mM NaCl, 2.7mM KCl, 25mM Tris and 0.05% Tween 20 (Tween is only in T0002). All our buffers are specially formulated and filtered to ensure that they are of the highest possible quality, longest stability, and guaranteed to be free of contaminants.
